Music: Mereba "Black Truck"

As an entrepreneur, Mereba's music is both relatable and inspiring. This song reminds me to be unapologetic about following my dreams, my purpose.  The moment captured represents my humble beginning into a new realm of makeup oppotunities- the world of tv and film.

-Candace Michelle

An inclusive African American production crew, came together during a pandemic to promote and uplift each other. Under the direction of Candace Michelle, something that seemed impossible occurred so seamlessly.

How often do we see a female director and all black production crew of entrepreneurs on a set? This project was nothing short of extraordinary due to this level of diversity. As a freelance makeup artist, I have only experienced this once.

Authentically, all brands and crew are local to Chicago- my hometown. Brands such as PHLI and JoJayden are featured on model Trey White of Chicago radio station WGCI.

Heightened racial tension in 2020 motivated me to show love to men- black creatives, sons, fathers, entrepreneurs, and pillars of my world. I was inspired to use my platform to, bring them together, provide space for them, and celebrate their expertise. We are black history.
